The year began on a really positive note for me. I finally got the chance to be part of a CSR activity (Corporate Social Responsibility), something I had been wanting to do for quite some time.
Over the last few attempts, I couldn’t participate because of project work and deadlines. This time, things worked out and I was genuinely happy to be there.
PPFAS extended financial support to rural areas and communities in need. With the help of the NGO Making the Difference, we were able to execute this initiative and see the impact at a ground level. Being physically present and witnessing it firsthand made the experience even more meaningful.
There’s a personal reason why this mattered so much to me. I come from a lower village in the Belgaum district, and I’ve seen people struggle for basic necessities like water, education, and healthcare. These challenges still exist even today, whenever I visit during vacations, I see it myself. Because of this, the thought of giving back has always stayed with me. I haven’t watched Swades 😄, it’s pure feeling from real experiences and emotions. The urge to do something for my village is very real.
While I haven’t been able to contribute in a big way yet, my elder brother Amol Da and I ensure that my cousins receive proper support and guidance. So when I learned that PPFAS actively runs CSR initiatives and genuinely invests in such causes, it made me feel proud to be part of the organization. That pride is what pushed me to be involved and experience this CSR activity in person.
This particular initiative involved donating equipment to the Primary Health Center hospital at Shivale, Thane. I also had the honour of inaugurating the labour ward and delivering a short speech. We even met an IAS officer. There’s a certain presence and aura they carry, and you can feel it instantly. Overall, I feel fortunate to have been part of this event.
I’ve always had a long term plan to donate computers to my village. The real challenge is not just donating them, but also training people to use them. With current job commitments and family responsibilities, it’s not easy, but I believe it will happen.
